Meet Our Doctors − Washington, MI

Meet Faith M. Aboona, DDS

Dr-Faith-Aboona-northstar-family-dentistryI was born & raised in Warren, Michigan, where I grew up as the oldest of five rambunctious children. I graduated valedictorian of my high school class & received a full academic scholarship to Wayne State University in Detroit. There I received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology & realized my passion for healthcare. My love of drawing & painting made dentistry seem like the perfect balance between patient care & art.

I am a board-certified general dentist with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Ohio State University. Don’t worry though! As a Michigan native, I remained true to my Mitten State & always cheered on the Wolverines.

My career as a dentist couldn’t be more fulfilling. I love meeting new patients & watching families grow. I enjoy performing dentistry, but I enjoy the relationships I form with my patients even more. I believe it’s my duty to provide each patient with the most state-of-the-art dentistry possible & therefore I take continuing education very seriously. Our office is on the cutting edge of technology because that’s what I would want for myself & my family.

dr-Aboona-kidsWhen I’m not in the office, my time is spent with my family. My husband Jonathan & I have three little ones; Alex, Dominic & a baby girl named Zoe. You might occasionally catch one or two of them in the office raiding the toy chest. My kids are my life, but on the rare occasion I have some free time, you can find me going for a run in the outdoors.

I look forward to meeting you & your family!

Meet Kristina Thelen, DDS

Kristina-Thelen-DDS

I completed my undergraduate studies at Oakland University, where I majored in biology & health sciences. My academic pursuits then led me to earn my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. Since graduating, I’ve attended courses to hone my skills in cosmetic dentistry, sleep apnea treatment, 3-D digital x-rays & minimally invasive endodontics.

I take great pride in volunteer work & giving back to the community. My past volunteer work includes working in the restorative department at Mission of Mercy as well as on a mobile dental unit for veterans. I also regularly contribute my services to the less fortunate at Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic & St. Vincent de Paul.

I live in Royal Oak with my husband. We have an adorable goldendoodle puppy that I love to play with & take with me on jogs. I spend most of my free time with my family & friends. If I’m not with them, I enjoy yoga & painting with different texture sculpting mediums. I’ve always loved to cook, but recently I’ve had a lot of fun with the art of food plating & presentation.
