Meet Our Doctors

Meet Faith M. Aboona, DDS

Dr-Faith-Aboona-northstar-family-dentistryI was born & raised in Warren, Michigan, where I grew up as the oldest of five rambunctious children. I graduated valedictorian of my high school class & received a full academic scholarship to Wayne State University in Detroit. There I received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology & realized my passion for healthcare. My love of drawing & painting made dentistry seem like the perfect balance between patient care & art.

I am a board-certified general dentist with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Ohio State University. Don’t worry though! As a Michigan native, I remained true to my Mitten State & always cheered on the Wolverines.

My career as a dentist couldn’t be more fulfilling. I love meeting new patients & watching families grow. I enjoy performing dentistry, but I enjoy the relationships I form with my patients even more. I believe it’s my duty to provide each patient with the most state-of-the-art dentistry possible & therefore I take continuing education very seriously. Our office is on the cutting edge of technology because that’s what I would want for myself & my family.

dr-Aboona-kidsWhen I’m not in the office, my time is spent with my family. My husband Jonathan & I have three little ones; Alex, Dominic & a baby girl named Zoe. You might occasionally catch one or two of them in the office raiding the toy chest. My kids are my life, but on the rare occasion I have some free time, you can find me going for a run in the outdoors.

I look forward to meeting you & your family!

Meet Gabrielle Malette, DDS

I was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan but grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, where I completed my undergraduate degree in kinesiology at the University of Windsor. I was a student-athlete at the University of Windsor, competing in both cross-country & track-&-field. Living in a border city, my family & I took full advantage of our proximity to the U.S., frequently making the quick trip across the bridge to enjoy concerts & sporting events in Detroit, & the beauty of Northern Michigan.

When I was eleven years old, a rare tooth decaying genetic defect resulted in the need for me to receive two root canals. While many children might have been frightened by the prospect of two root canal procedures, I was fascinated by the entire process & my passion for dentistry had been sparked. This ultimately led me to the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, where I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

My passion for the profession has only grown over time. I love being able to help patients & meet so many wonderful people. I am definitely a “people-person”, which is another reason that I love the profession of dentistry – it affords me the opportunity of interacting with & forming meaningful relationships with so many great people.

Outside of the office, you’d likely find me spending time with my family. My hobbies include cooking, running, playing soccer, swimming, & playing board games. Being Canadian, I must admit that I fit the stereotype of being a passionate hockey fan, proudly cheering on the Red Wings.

Taryn Gladwish, DDS

Taryn Gladwish, DDSI was born & raised in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. I may be Canadian, but living on the Michigan border, I’ve spent my fair share of time in the state exploring all that it has to offer. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in life sciences from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. After my undergraduate studies, I obtained my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit Mercy, graduating in the top of my class. To further my education after dental school, I completed a General Practice Residency program at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Being a dentist has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I love the opportunity it provides to build lasting relationships with my patients. Dentistry is an ever-evolving profession that allows me to constantly learn new skills to ensure my patients receive the highest quality of care. I take great pride in listening to my patients’ wants & needs, while contributing to the betterment of their oral health.

In my spare time, I love being with my family & friends. As for my hobbies, I have great passion for winter sports. I am an avid skier & actually learned to ski in Michigan on frequent family trips. I was also a competitive figure skater for many years, so you can find me outdoors as soon as the rinks open up for the winter. In the warmer weather, you can find me out honing my golf skills or spending time by the water.

I can’t wait to see you in the office & look forward to giving you & your family the smiles you deserve!
