Spencer Owen, DDS

What separates dentistry from other professions is the opportunity to get to know patients & their families on a personal level. I recognize that going to the dentist is not something most people look forward to, but I take pride in prioritizing patients’ needs & making each patient comfortable & more at ease in my chair.

I was born & raised in Fenton, Michigan, in a house of three boys. I attended Flint Powers Catholic High School where I excelled both academically & as a student athlete, playing hockey & lacrosse. I went on to the University of Dayton, where I studied & received a Bachelor of Science in biology. From there I attended the University of Detroit Mercy & received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

I have always had the desire to help others & dreamt of becoming a doctor one day. Having parents whose careers revolved around serving others—my father being a paramedic firefighter & mom being a teacher—played a big role in what I wanted to be.

In my spare time I love spending time with family, including my new baby niece. For fun I enjoy playing hockey, golf, reading, watching movies & fly-fishing. A fun fact about me: I have an identical twin who is also a dentist!
